Hi Chas69jr,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having an issue with your AirPods volume. We're happy to assist.

Depending on the type of AirPods you own, you may be able to adjust the settings directly from the AirPods. Check out the steps in the article here: Pause, skip, and adjust volume with your AirPods and AirPods Pro

If you're using your AirPods with an iPhone, check out the steps for adjusting the volume from your iPhone here: Adjust the volume on iPhone

You can also check your audio settings with the help of the article here: Customize headphone audio levels on your iPhone or iPad

If the issue occurs with your AirPods connected to multiple devices, test cleaning your AirPods: How to clean your AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and EarPods

You'll wan to also be sure you've completed all the steps for resetting your AirPods in the article you started this post from. If needed again they are as follows:

  1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and close the lid.
  2. Wait 30 seconds.
  3. Open the lid of your charging case.
  4. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > Bluetooth and tap the "i" icon  next to your AirPods. (If you don't see your AirPods in Settings > Bluetooth, just go to the next step.)
  5. Tap Forget This Device, and tap again to confirm.
  6. With the lid open, press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light flashes amber, then white.*

Additionally you can check your audio exposure limit information with the guide here: Headphone notifications on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Apple Watch

Cheers!
