i'm all backedup and ready to go, nothing is lost.
i want to buy a refurbished iMac 2017,
i need to run on MacOS LION so that i can use the old version of FCP effectively

Yes. macOS 10.8 Mountain Lion was initially released in July, 2012.
The late 2013 iMacs shipped with 10.8.4 Mtn Lion. You'll probably want to find something in the 2010-2013 range. Anything earlier than that is just really getting too old, IMHO.
The mid-2014 iMacs shipped with 10.9 Mavericks and won't run Mtn. Lion.
