I have a laptop cooler that I am trying to connect to my macbook pro. I bought a USB-C cable and it doesn't work. If I plug the cooler into what I use to transfer my photos to the computer it comes on but is getting too hot. What am I doing wrong??
That shows a USB-A connector, so appears to require a USB-C to USB-A adapter for your computer.
The USB-C cable that shipped in the box with your MacBook Pro is a charge-ONLY cable, and can not be used for any other purpose except a keyboard or USB mouse.
Then either the cooler or the cable is defective.
To make progress, substitute different (preferably known-good) components, and see if that fixes it or what part stays broken.
What model-year MacBook Pro and what screen size?
What Make&Model cooler device, or a link to its web page?
