how can i recover an accidentally deleted text

Go to Settings > (your name) > iCloud > Messages. If it is turned on your message is gone and you cannot recover it. If it is not and your text is in your latest backup you can restore your iPhone from your backup. You will lose any data added since the time/date of that backup.
