Voice recording

I made a recording on my voice memo yesterday of 8 minutes but when I play it back it stops playing after 10 seconds . Any ideas please

Verifying this:

Sure you din't tap the Pause button? What happens when you look at the file's info(Right-Click > Get Info...)? Does is show anything of "8 Minutes" in the window somewhere?
