I have had a work phone for many years and one Apple ID. Now I have purchased a personal phone and will be turning in my work phone at the end of this week. Should I sync the personal phone to the last cloud backup and use both phones for a week until I wipe the work phone and turn it in? When I wipe my work phone, would I then just delete any work apps or other data from the personal phone and just leave the data I want to keep?
You should sync the personal phone to the last cloud backup if you want the data from the work phone transferred to the personal phone so you will have the data after you turn in the work phone. If you are syncing the work phone to iCloud, you should also sync the personal phone to iCloud if you want to keep the iCloud data.
Wiping the work phone won't affect the personal phone. You will have to manually delete the apps and data you don't want to keep.
