Phone will not ring when screen is locked.

I saw in my settings that there’s an option for do not disturb when you’re screen is locked. So my phone is set to that but my phone won’t allow me to turn it off. So I was curious how to turn off that setting. Did

Do Not Disturb I have the iPhone XR. The Do Not Disturb is OFF. Silence - only gives me the option of "Always" or "While phone is locked". Since the phone is always locked, if I am not looking at it, I don't hear any phone calls. This is not good. How can I change this? I unlock the phone with my face or ID code.

Unless you have Do not Disturb turned on that setting is ignored, so it doesn’t matter if it is checked or not.
