Nothing transfered from my mac to my external drive will open
When i was moving a couple of photos and videos from my mac to my external drive, i noticed none of them would play or open up, For the images only like 2 open up while the others give me a warning that says, "The file “IMG_2985.jpeg” could not be opened, it may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize." While none of the videos work, i get this message, " The file isn’t compatible with QuickTime Player." (I have also tried with VCL) I have restarted my mac numerous times and ejected then connected the drive a lot. I also deleted the files than transfered them as well numerous times. The videos have been compressed with handbrake but I don't think that is the problem as the files didn't work before i compressed them. What must be the problem?
