How to re download the music I purchased from itunes in a different file format?. I downloaded the music in AAC format which is a lossy format. I want to re down load in AIFF format.

You can't. The Import setting only applies to content ripped from audio CDs.

However, I am not trying to download in the new losslessly format that apple announced recently . All I want to do is to re-download in AIFF format which iTunes support. I have downloaded few songs in AAC format by mistake which is a compressed format.
I changed the import settings from the preferences to download in AIFF format and then from the iTunes store a downloaded again all the purchased songs. However the songs are downloaded in the same old AAC format.
