Why the **** do I need an iTunes giftcard to make an Apple ID for my iPhone 3G? I’ve already entered a payment method and it still tells me to add a payment method. 🤨

You don’t need a gift card to create an Apple ID. However, you need some payment method on the phone to download apps or music. It’s unlikely that you can find apps that will run on a 3G, however.
