STOLEN IPAD What to do?

Does Apple notify me if someone else uses my IPAD that was stolen? I do not want or need to erase the device and losing the ability to track it . Once it is earased it can't send a notification that it was turned on through "find my" to me. Any advice?

Neither we, just users like you, nor Apple can get involved in a lost or stolen device.

These are the steps you can perform in such a situation:--> If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support

and/or:--> Use the Find My app to locate a missing device or item - Apple Support

Regards and best of luck

if the someone can only use it if the someone removes your activation lock in which cause it's the same situation if you took all the steps to prepare it for sale

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

which is something apple work a lot on making impossible for the someone to be able to accomplish , could also be that the someone could not use it and took it apart for spare parts for unofficial repair places.
