iPhone thinks wired earphones are bluetooth

Hi!

I recently bought a pair of in ear monitors for gigging, but decided to try them out with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I’ve plugged them in using a lightning headphone adapter, but my iPhone seems to think they’re a set of Bluetooth Beats earphones. The IEMs have good audio quality with other devices, but the iPhone quality sounds terrible! I assume this is related to my iPhone thinking it’s a Bluetooth connection. Any idea what I can do to prevent my iPhone from treating it like a Bluetooth connection? Pictures attached to show what I mean. Thank you!

iPhone 12 Pro Max, 15

Hello CourtlandAdams,

We see that you have questions about a third-party set of headphones.

Does this happen if you connect the headphones to another iOS or iPadOS device? If so, we recommend that you reach out to the device manufacturer for more help. Contact a third-party vendor

Cheers!
