Intel MacBook Pro Control Strip vanishes in Quick Actions mode when I touch < to expand
This is a known issue for over 12 months as far as I can see. Any chance of fixing it so I can actually use my laptop?

Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295
there is some NVRAM involved on T2 Intel macs
Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379
(get at least two-three rounds of the chimes when holding the NRAM Reset)
If no resolve it typically indicates a hardware issue:
In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment
Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"—
