Apple ID verification code

I just received the pop on my phone “Apple ID verification code enter this verification code on your other device” and I did not try to sign into any of my devices. Help

iPhone 11 Pro Max, iOS 14

That's a possible indication that someone else knows your AppleID and Password.

Suggest that you change you AppleID password as a matter of some urgency.

Someone may be trying to sign your Apple ID, which would generate the request for a verification code. Since you have 2 Factor Authentication enabled, as long as they can't access one of your trusted devices, they can't get a code, and sign in. You should be okay.
