Is there any way of permanently disabling low data mode when tethering? It's incredibly irritating having to switch it off every time. The system should learn that once disabled a couple of times, it shouldn't automatically switch on again.....

Thank you Lindsay. This is frustrating as it means I have to do that about 30 times a day, not least because the tethering from iPad to iPhone turns itself off every time the iPad is closed, despite asking it to connect automatically. Apple seem to be tone deaf to people's experience outside the US, unlimited data on the iPhone is not at all unusual here in the UK. Much like the requirement for an iPhone upgrade to be connected to WiFi to download a mere 980mb when I downloaded 800gb on my phone in one weekend. Many in the UK ditched WiFi ages ago....

Thanks for following up. The information in Use Low Data Mode on your iPhone and iPad - Apple Support presents all the currently available options related to Low Data Mode. If an option isn't listed, it is not available. Based on the information in that article, in order to turn Low Data Mode on or off, you must go into the Settings to do so each time you wish to change it.
