"Available" is a supply chain issue and we are not Apple. Therefore we have no access to Apple inventory data nor shipping company records.

Phil024 is correct that the 16GB option has been in place since the first M1 MBPs shipped.

There are shortages of everything right now, compounded by shipping delays. See:

Also, almost every one of these computers is custom built to your order. NONE are pulled from a warehouse.

Some vendors may have stock they decided to pre-order, and in that case, if you do not want custom, you may select from stock-on-hand.

The online Store is not available right now, but the 16GB option has always existed and been available as custom upgrade from there.

The 16GB option has been available since last year.
