AW SE display stuck on at 100% brightness

This is an occasional problem but happens every few weeks. All of the sudden, I notice my display is stuck on and at max brightness and my battery is heavily drained compared to same time on a normal day. In other words, with wrist down, it does not turn off.

The only recourse I've found is to restart it. Then it works normally, until it doesn't.

I know it's a bug, but wondered...am I the only one? It's persisted through many watchOS updates.

Ideas?

Thanks.

Hi Darryl,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you’re having trouble with the brightness on your Apple Watch. We’re happy to help.

To start, make sure you’re running the latest version of watchOS: Update your Apple Watch - Apple Support

If that doesn’t help, try unpairing your Apple Watch and setting it up again. When you unpair your Apple Watch it automatically creates a backup as long as your paired iPhone is signed into iCloud.

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Should the issue persist after that, contact Apple Support.

Best Regards.
