I am trying to install iOS 14.7 on an iPad.

when i push the install now button, it says:

”iOS 14 failed verification because you are no longer connected to the Internet.”

I’ve e seen a previous thread about this issue and to delete the update file and start again.

I’ve now done that 3 times and same error!

Hello markmisky.

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We see that you are having issues updating your iOS. We will be glad to assist. You have performed some great troubleshooting so far.

First, we would suggest restarting your iPhone to see if that helps: Restart your iPhone

If the issue persists, try the update while connected to a different Wi-Fi network.

If you still need help, we would recommend using a computer:

"If you can't see the update on your device, you can update manually using your computer. Find out how to update your device manually if you’re using a Mac with macOS Catalina or later, or if you're using a Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier or a Windows PC.

Before you update

Back up your device using iCloud or your computer. "

Update your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply but didn't work. FYI, this is an Ipad 6th Gen with IOS 14.2 not an Iphone. My Iphone updated with no issues . Here's what I tried:

  1. Connected Ipad to Itunes (is up to date) and when I told it to check for updates it told me IOS 14.2 is the latest software? Rebooted and tried again, same error?
  2. Tried downloading 14.7 on the Ipad on another Wifi network. Same error during verification that I'm not connected to the Internet?
  3. I've power off the Ipad at least a dozen times and same issue. Have downloaded the update 8 times now.
  4. Not sure if this is the issue, but when I FIRST did the update my Ipad was full and stopped downloading. Since then I deleted a ton of stuff and have 18Gigs free. Not sure if the first download though did something.

Would appreciate any ideas or maybe I should wait for Ios 15 on 9/20.

I have been unable to update despite having downloaded the package and deleted it three times now. I have also restarted the phone. I have even enabled cellular data to accomplish this. There’s clearly an error. Could this be perhaps because 14.8 has supplanted 14.7 in the authorization status somehow? I am actually running a iphone beta 14.7 (code number 18G5023C) and is only attempting the regular 14.7, per the automatic iOS updated download recommendation.

I appear to be unable to update directly to 14.8.

It will download 14.7 regular (non-beta) but not install it. There is no way to make it download 14.8.

(Although I am posting this from an iPad, it is in fact in reference to an iPhoneXR).
