How can I move my text messages to my new phone. It's not getting backed up even though the green slide is on.
Is there a way to copy from one phone to another, both iphones

It sounds like you're having troulbe syncing your messages using Messages for iCloud.
You'll want to make sure both iPhones are caught up on their software updates. You'll also need to have Two-Factor Authentication enabled for your Apple ID, and have iCloud Keychain enabled on both devices. The following article will go into further detail regarding Messages in iCloud. This should be enabled on your old device as well as your new device. You will also want to ensure that your iCloud account has sufficient available storage to upload your messages.
Aside from using Messages in iCloud, you may be able to restore from a backup which contained your messages. More on restoring from backups at the link below.
