Is the IOS 14.8 software update relevant to my Apple desktop?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

iOS 14.8 is for iPhones and iPads, not Macs.

Macs use macOS.

As @woodmeister50 already mentioned iOS 14.8 is ONLY for iPhones

Only if it makes a change in transferring iPhone Data. For example, when iPhone switched to HEIC images, older MacOs' could not read them. If you stayed up to date, you were fine.
