Porting a number

Technically, your wireless provider may be able to provide this service -

or they may only do it for landline to cellphone.

What is your end purpose in doing this? An iPad is not a cellphone and will

not function as one. An iPad's cellular connection is for data only.

Anyone attempting to call your old landline number, if ported,

will not have their call connect to your iPad.

If this is not what you are asking, provide more details so someone

may offer a solution.

The carrier I used to work for, Verizon, would not do this. The mobile number assigned to an iPad with cellular is for billing purposes only. No one can call you on it. You can't us it for texting.
