Hi oskar1429,

Thanks for reaching out using Apple Support Communities.

We understand you are inquiring about ProRes and recording options on the newly announced iPhone 13 Pro. Happy to help with the information we have so far!

ProRes is a type of codec support to allow advanced editing and image processing, typically ideal for content creation in programs such as Final Cut Pro. This format has been available previously, but for the first time will be available for video recording on the iPhone 13 Pro.

About Apple ProRes

More about ProRes can be read at the link above. ProRes does not replace video formats such as 4K, but provides content creators additional tools directly on iPhone. Specifications of the iPhone 13 Pro's camera and video recording can be found at the link below. ProRes video recording is limited to 1080p at 30fps on 128GB models, but is offered in up to 4K on models with 256GB storage or higher.
