Does the new ipad mini have a headphone / audio jack socket?

The old iPad mini is a great power horse for customised music performance, but it needs the hardwired connection and simultaneous power for the reliability and fit for live music production. They surely can't be worried about waterproofing, so please tell me the audio socket is still there...

Unfortunately, the new iPad mini6 does not feature a 3.5mm Audio Jack. The 3.5mm jack is now only available on the entry-level iPad (iPad8/9).

If you require an analog audio connection, you will need to use an appropriate USB-C adapter that incorporates a DAC. If looking for both power and audio, you will need to look at third-party manufacturers (e.g., Satechi).

Yes - only one USB-C port - but you can of course use an appropriate USB hub to provide multiple connections and a pass-through USB-C for charging and power.

Some hubs incorporate a selection of USB, USB-C, HDMI, SD and microSD card readers, 3.5mm jack etc.

Perhaps look at Satechi, Anker, Kingston - although there are many others from which to choose.

Thanks. I've just posted a request, FWIW.

They spend so much money developing the cameras and screens, it's really odd that they have relegated the audio to the tinny native speakers - however good they think they are - or a bluetooth connection. No musician/DJ/theatre audio technician would trust this for a live show to a paying audience. Resorting to third-party dongles doesn't come across as very Apple nor professional.

I presume there is only one connection port as well... which seems like another missed opportunity. Why not two or three USB ports?
