Magic keyboard only connects when plugged in

Connect your magic keyboard with your mac using a lightning cable (if it was not already)
Turn off bluetooth on your mac
Toggle the keyboard power to "off"
Disconnect the lightning cable
Turn on bluetooth on your mac
Toggle the keyboard power to "on"

It should connect and work without any issues

It does connect via Bluetooth to my MacBook Air. It works via USB with my iMac. My Magic Mouse does connect to my iMac via Bluetooth so Bluetooth appears to be working on both my keyboard and iMac. I recently updated to the latest Ventura OS with no known issues but this problem did not start then. I've turned bluetooth on and off, restarted my computer and reset PRAM which has not helped. Any ideas what the problem is and how I might resolve it (other than connecting my keyboard via USB)? Thanks

magic keyboard not connecting wirelessly to macbook pro Hi all, My macbook pro 2020 is only connecting to my magic keyboard when it's plugged in and doesn't connect when not plugged in. Any ideas?

Since 13.5.2 Update Magic Keyboard is not connecting - checked BT and Charge for Keyboard..help!! I was out of town last week and came back to a Ventura 13.5.2 for my iMac. Since the update the Magic Keyboard is not connecting, but other Bluetooth connections (mouse) continue to work. Not sure if the issues is coincidence with the update, but my keyboard worked great before. I have charged the keyboard, made sure the bluetooth is on, restarted my computer (and keyboard on/off), and searched Google for other tips or tricks. Looking for guidance from anyone else that might help me understand why the Magic Keyboard will no longer connect?
