Why won't birthdays show up on my calendar?

I have some of my contacts' birth dates in my iPad/iPhone contacts as well as in Outlook. When I sync, they carry in the calendar on my iPhone but not on my iPad. I can't figure out why.

Anyone know why?

Thanks

Do you have the birthday calendar selected to view? In the left hand corner is a button Calendars. Tap that and make sure you selected the Birthday calendar to show.

I have both "personal calendar" and "work calendar" selected through MobileMe. I don't have a "birthday calendar" created. The birthday calendar showed up on my iPhone automatically. I guess it reads from the birthday information I have attached to some of my contacts. I was assuming the iPad would automatically do the same.

Well, you are correct. It appears the iPad doesn't offer to make a calendar out of the Birthdays in Contacts like the Mac and the iPhone.

I got around this by enabling the Birthdays calendar on my Mac and syncing it to the iPad, now I have all my synced calendars on the iPad. I use the Mac as the master Contact and Calendar lists so that works for me.

I haven't tested syncing them via MobileMe as I typically sync directly from the Mac anyway.

I figured it out. If you subscribe to automatically display birthdays from your address book on your Mac, then it won't automatically show up on your ipad. You must:

Log in to your mobileMe account and go into your calendar
Click on the top right hand corner actions icon (little circle).
Click on Preferences
Click on Show Birthdays Calendar

You should see all of your birthdays on your iPad now.

Hope it works for you.

Sorry. I take back my solution. Apparently, it works for the iPhone4 but not the iPad. iOS 4 supports birthday calendars natively on the iPhone just like the Mac.

For the iPhone4 go into your calendar. On the top left hand corner click on Calendars. Scroll all the way to the bottom and you should see your subscribed birthdays under "other."

iPads currently doesn't have iOS 4 available yet so it doesn't work there.

That's a bummer. You would think all of their new products would have all of these features installed.
