Sidecar disconnecting when wired
Even with a wired connection, my M1 MacBook air base model will disconnect from my M1 iPad Pro 12.9 when using sidecar. How do I fix this?

Hi JacobBritt ,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
We understand that your Mac is disconnecting from your iPad while using a USB cable with Sidecar. Check the USB cable for any damage. Change the cable. Make sure iPad and Mac are both running the latest software version. If your iPad has cellular, make sure your iPad is not sharing its internet connection in Settings > Personal Hotspot. Check for the same on your Mac using the guidance found in Share the internet connection on Mac with other network users.
Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
The related article you referenced, Use your iPad as a second display for your Mac with Sidecar has several steps to assist. Make sure to follow section "Additional requirements".
