I deleted an 8GB video why didn't that space free up?

Hi all! I'm trying to help my wife free up space on her iPad. 32GB; 0 available. I deleted an 8GB video thinking that would help. The video is no longer there. But still 0GB available. How can I clear that space?

Freeing up space by deleting videos..but it reappears I'm trying to free up space on my iphone X. When I delete a video and open up photos, the video reappears. Why? and how can I free up space?

Deleted a 4 GB video but storage did not change My phone has a maximum of 64 GB. I’ve been having problems with storage so I decided to delete a big video file which was 3.95 GB. I deleted it from the Recently Deleted as well. After that, I checked my storage only to see it was the same. 63.6 GB of 64 GB. I restarted my phone and the video was nowhere to be found, but the storage was still the same. What do I do? Did the restart do anything?

Did you restart the device after the deletion? Sometimes a restart is needed to complete the deletion.
