Hi, I am having a strange problem of late. Normally I would download a song from youtube and it would automatically get downloaded to music (recently added). But now, though the song shows in the downloaded folder, neither it is playing nor showing up in music. Please help!

Thanks for your prompt reply. Let me restate the problem. Up until now the song once converted from youtube would come to downloaded folder and from there it would get automatically transferred to itunes ‘recently added’ folder. But now, although the converted song can be seen in downloaded folder it is not automatically transferring to recently added folder. Nor am i able to drag and drop it to the recently added folder in itunes.

If you can see the MP3 in your Downloads folder, right-click it and choose Open With iTunes (or Music).
If it is a compatible file, it will start playing and will be added to your library.
If it does not start playing, there is a problem with the file.
Thanks once again for your reply. Here is the issue - tried downloading a new song and once downloaded I tried to play/open it from the downloaded folder and it did NOT play. However, when I copied the file/song to the desktop and played it from there, it DID play but the song did not transfer to iTunes?

When iTunes (or Music) plays a song, it adds the song to the library if it is not already in there. After you played the song from your desktop using iTunes/Music, can you see it listed in your iTunes/Music library?

Unfortunately that is not a problem iTunes/Music can solve. Contact technical support for the conversion program you are using to convert Youtube to MP3s.
