My husband passed away a few years ago, my daughter changed the Apple I'd on our desktop to me, but the computer keeps asking for an icloud password which is still my husbands and I don't know how to get that changed as I don't know all of his security info

Start by looking in Applications>Utilities>Keychain Access. In the list of save passwords you may find the iCloud one: the password itself will be hidden and you will need the User Account password to view it.
You cold also try https://iforgot.apple.com - this will send a reset password to the email address registered with Apple, so it's a question of whether you can access that account.
