WhatsApp messages on ipad

I do not want my WhatsApp messages to show up on my iPad. I am not in the same town as my iPad. How do I make sure that messages that come to my phone don’t show up on the iPad?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 10

Delete WhatsApp on your iPad. Or turn off notifications on your iPad.
