Mac won't stop recording

I've had my MacBook for a few years now but suddenly a day ago this icon popped up.

If you click it, it switches between sleep and wake up. If I'm in a type box and someone says something, it types it into said type box (I had a whole conversation with someone and looked over and saw it was all typed out on my google doc...).

I can't figure out where to turn this off. Does anyone know how? I know it's a real simple fix but I just can't figure it out.
