Price for battery replacement

Went today to iStyle Authorised Apple Service

That is the precise reason for the cost. Apple charges US$199 for a battery service if they do the work in one of their centralized service/refurbishment facility. The extra cost for non-Apple service needs no guessing for anyone to understand if they have have worked with state and federal safety regulatory agencies:

• The MacBook Pro battery is glued in place
• The strong and flammable solvents required to remove the old glue cannot be used in a retail workspace, as those materials fall under things like fire codes, OSHA regs, and HAZMAT classifications.
• Apple Authorized Service Providers and independents can only replace the entire upper deck to avoid serious workplace violations, like burning down the row of shops where they are located..

See if Apple offers a mail/ship-in service in your region. That will get the fastest turnaround/

Seems a bit high, but it is also not an "EASY" replacement, I would look around at another Authorized Apple Service store and compare.

Here in the US, I had the battery replaced in August of 2020 on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) and the cost was $350 done at my local Authorized Apple Service Store here in Anchorage.

With that, I also got a new "top" (keyboard, track pad)

10/08/2020 - New Battery Installed - $350.00 - top case replaced as well

I found it to be money well spent on the MacBook and am continuing to use it as a secondary machine in my new "Covid-19" Home Office.
