how do i do it without my home button wokring on a iphone 6 plus?

The easiest way to restart your iPhone 6 Plus is with AssistiveTouch.

Once you have it set up, tap on the AssistiveTouch circle > Device > More > Restart.

hole the power button for 5 seconds, or until another screen pops up. Then follow the instructions and slide to power off. Wait 30 seconds and turn it back on.

and to make the home button work, there are a couple things you can try.

first, open an apple made app like notes, stocks, or weather. Stay in the app and then hold the power button for 5 seconds. When you see the slide to power off slider, then hold the home button for about 8 seconds to hopefully recalibrate it.

second, turn the phone on its side, and start flicking the home button gently.

third, restart the iPhone. (Shown above)

fourth, Plug a USB cable into your iPhone. Then, gently push down on the 30-pin connector, so that it pushes up behind the home button. While you apply the pressure, click the home button. Remove the cable, and see if that fixed the problem.

because There is a chance that through normal wear and tear, your phone's docking port got misaligned, moving the home button along with it.
