I accidentally deleted my iOS iPad Google chrome bookmarks

Not too sure if I should ask this here because this is more Google than Apple but I accidentally deleted my Google chrome bookmarks off my iPad while I botched a syncing with my Google account by pressing ‘erase data’ and I would like to know how to get it back via an iPad-related backdoor. It isn’t too much of a problem on the PC but I have no idea how to do so on the iPad. Please help ASAP.

Hi TheIrateUser,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you've accidentally deleted your Chrome bookmarks and you'd like to try to recover them. We'd like to help.

Is there a chance that your bookmarks were also saved in Safari? We ask because a backup of your device would save your Safari bookmarks but not ones from Chrome. This is because Chrome is from a third party. While looking into resources from Google, it looks like once a bookmark is deleted, it is not able to be recovered: Create, view & edit bookmarks

However, it may be best to connect with Google to confirm that.

Hope that helps.

Cheers!

Hi ColleenD1,

Unfortunately it wasn’t saved on Safari bookmarks on iCloud to send to my PC (and I should have done so but some for some reason I decided not to do that and instead went to test the sync backup with the Google Chrome on my iPad 5th gen straight away (because I was desperate to sync 1000s of Google Chrome bookmarks from my old iPad 3 without having to put them on my PC manually, which would take all week) and that was a big mistake from me). And that is sort of what I feared as well, the fact that there would be no backup from Chrome due to it being a third party app and how there is no way to restore a bookmark on Chrome iOS (unlike on the PC), which is quite frustrating because there were lots of good priceless ones in there. I actually sent similar questions already on the Google community help forums the same day I posted this question here on the Apple community help forums but I didn’t get any replies until now (and unfortunately I don’t think I will get any at all). Oh well, that is just life. Anyways, thank you very much for your help irregardless, I appreciate it very much.
