scrolling lag on macbook pro retina 2015

So i just updated my macbook pro 2011 to a macbook pro retina mid 2015 (15 inches) and scrolling seems to be noticebly worse, especially on sites like youtube , reddit and twitter, its worst when i flick scroll and when scrolling past images and gifs (no matter how big or small) and drops from

60 to around 30 or 20 fps And seem to randomly continue or stop for a bit.

i have tried both safari, google chrome and firefox. And seem to come in waves.

anyone know if its some kind of setting or is it a issue with the software (big sur osx) or is there anything wrong with my hardware?

Hello 90bubbel,

Thanks for reaching out through the Apple Support Communities about that behavior when scrolling on your MacBook Pro.

Do you also experience this behavior with other types of apps, such as Finder or Photos?

Did you use Migration Assistant or Time Machine to move the data from your prior MacBook Pro to your current one?

Also, does that persist if you boot your Mac into safe mode using the steps from this article? Start up your Mac in safe mode

It can take a few extra minutes to boot into safe mode. Your screen may flash or flicker while logging into safe mode. Those behaviors are expected. Testing in safe mode can help isolate conflicts with a startup process. Once you’ve checked on that, you can restart to leave safe mode.

Hopefully those details will help to further isolate and address this behavior.

Take care.
