unexplained "Audit 1" wi-fi network join

I usually disable mac internal wi-fi unless needed to print, but forgot this once, and put mac to sleep.

Upon wake from computer sleep some hours later, a dialog asked to reenter google password (mail i assume)

then my malware(anti-virus) software notified a new network had been joined, "Audit 1".

Preferences should have prevented join to external network... i thought.

I immediately disabled wi-fi, changed google passwords, strengthened security settings.

no external (neighborhood) wi-fi networks are listed in network settings.

Router, Androil phone, Roku Tv, stick and printer only other wi-fi devices.

after deleting the 'Audit 1' network, only my own router network name appears when wi-fi is enabled.

Since i live in an extremely low population neighborhood, and live in a house with metal roof and siding where rf signals don't penetrate well... voice over wi-fi required to get cell service inside... not likely a neighborhood source intrusion.

Also noticed that my external time machine disk had been improperly ejected during sleep when mac awoke.

Have now disabled 'power nap' as well as automatic join to any wi-fi network, even my own.

Reached out to my 3rd party security software org to alert on possible 'power nap' wi-fi vulnerabilty.
