iPhone 6 says to activate a cellular data network

I have an iPhone 6 that is not usable outside my wifi range, because I get a popup notification saying that I have to activate my cellular data network. I have a SIM card in my phone, and I have tried everything from resetting network data, to resetting the phone completely, I even called my carrier for help. I am using iOS 12.5.4 and my carrier is Xfinity Mobile.

Hey there JobsWozniak,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. We understand you're having issues with the cellular network on your iPhone, and we'd be happy to get you pointed in the right direction.

To get started, great job on all the troubleshooting steps that you've already gone through. Going forward, have you had a chance to go through all the steps listed in this resource here: If you see No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If so, and if your carrier has confirmed that there are no issues on their end, then the next best option would be to reach out to Apple Support directly using the 'contact Apple Support' link listed under the "Get more help" section.

Take care!
