what is the blue moon?

tapping moon for do not disturb but moon goes blue and phone is still not on do not disturb. I must click on Focus, then turn on "do not disturb". My wife's phone goes straight to dnd, not blue moon. Any pointers why my phone won't go right away into dnd??
