Why can't I use Apple Pay to reserve a ride in Uber?

I'm trying to reserve a ride on Uber. When I look in my Uber wallet, I have Apple Pay already added. But when I start the reservation process, it wants me to select a payment option. Apple Pay is not a choice. What gives?
