Printing problem with canon IP100

I can not print with IP100 printer, always show filter failed. Please advise how to remedied.

Canon just provided an IP100 series CUPS printer driver on 2021-09-09 for this device. This is shown for Mojave 10.14.* and not for Catalina or Big Sur. That link will default to macOS 10.15 Catalina, and you need to change that to macOS Mojave 10.14 to see the driver download. Canon does not share if this CUPS driver will work on Catalina or Big Sur, and if it doesn't, then you are likely done with driver support from Canon.


Once you install the CUPS driver, power on the printer and visit System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Right-click on the IP100 printer entry and select Reset printing system… from the secondary menu. This will allow you to re-add the device, and choose the newly installed CUPS driver for it.


Apple's built-in AirPrint (for networked devices) only supports the IP110 model, as does GutenPrint.
