I have the same issue since upgrading to iOS 15. It definitely has something to do with the upgrade because every other device in this house can connect to Wi-Fi. And the iPhones that did not upgrade, are not experiencing any issues. I have an iPhone X With an upgrade, and I’m experiencing the Wi-Fi issues. We have another iPhone X in the house and they did not upgrade, and they are not experiencing any issues. I have reset my network settings. I’ve restarted the phone numerous times. I have selected forget network and out of network again. I restarted my Wi-Fi router/modem several times, nothing is changing this issue. Would like to see an update from Apple sooner rather than later. I am seeing a lot of videos with people experiencing this issue shortly after one of the iOS 14 updates. It Has to be a known issue. Please resolve.

Had the same problem after updating to iOS 15.1 on my IPhone 12. iPhone would not connect to Wi-Fi but still say it was connected in settings. Turning Wi-Fi on and off in settings did nothing.

However this fix WORKED FOR ME:

1: Turn Wi-Fi off in settings on Iphone.

2: Turn Iphone off.

3: I waited roughly 30 sec

4: Turn Iphone on

5: Turn Wi-Fi on in settings and it connects properly to Wi-Fi.

With an older iPhone model such as the 7 Plus, it's worth checking the battery. If it's still the original 5 year-old battery, the long process of applying an iOS update can strain a weak, aging battery and be "the straw that broke the camel's back". What's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

A issue is marked Solved by the person who made the first post. So it is marked Solved because vickyvjain said it solved their problem. That was probably in error but that’s a permanent label.

In case you haven’t read the rest of the thread, the most common solution to this problem is to delete the VPN app and profile from your phone, if any.

Other troubleshooting steps:

  • See if it happens with all Wi-Fi connections (try a Starbucks or MacDonalds, for example), or only your home network
  • Restart your router if it is only your home network
  • Go to Settings/Wi-Fi and tap on the i next to the network name and turn off Private Wi-Fi Address
  • Forget the Wi-Fi connection, then add it back
  • Reset Network Settings on your phone

I figured out a few things but don't have an answer. I'm on an iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 15.1. When the phone is connected to wifi, it's SUPER SLOW. It will connect to wifi but websites and social media take a really long time to load. It will show me that my home pods and other home kit items are playing music/running, but won't let me control them from the phone. It just shows "trying to connect." I remember having this issue about a year and a half ago and I figured out if I turned off the "Private Address" setting, everything would start working again.

On iOS 15, when I turn that setting off, the phone completely disconnects from wifi, and the "trying to connect" symbol just spins forever. After a few hours of that, the phone will automatically turn the private network setting back on, reconnect to wifi, and the process starts all over again.

Hopefully, they get this fixed because it's pretty frustrating.

After upgrading my iPhone last night (Nov 29) to OS 15.1, I could no longer connect to WiFi. No procedure of rebooting, turning WiFi off and on, forgetting the network, etc, etc, changes the problem.

The problem is that I can no longer log into the WiFi network because the login screen is now completely blank - there is no box for entering the network password.

My phone is now just an expensive flip phone for calls only - effectively no data connection.

What is the fix, which I desperately need immediately? Can I undo the 15.1 installation and go back to the last OS that worked?

HELP!!!
