Can't Connect iPhone HotSpot to MacBook Pro

I have the following hardware

iPhone 7 plus with Personal Hotspot enabled and working.

MacBook A (2015 MBP)

MacBook B (2015 MBP)

For the past six hours I’ve been successfully using MacBook A with my iPhone 7’s Personal HotSpot. However, I need to also use my other MacBook, MacBook B, with my iPhone 7’s Personal Hotspot - but, I cannot connect.

When attempting to connect MacBook B to my iPhone 7’s HotSpot I just get a message saying it failed.

Why is this?

What can I do to make this work?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.14

Hi there silver_mica,

We understand that you are trying to connect multiple devices to your iPhone Personal Hotspot. We’d like to help however we can.

To confirm, if you disconnect one MacBook Pro from the Personal Hotspot are you able to connect the second MacBook Pro or do you get the same error message?

Also, let’s follow the steps outlined here:

If Personal Hotspot is not working on your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular)

Cheers!

silver_mica,

Understood. Is your iPhone fully updated to iOS 15?

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Which version of macOS is each Mac running under the Apple menu > About This Mac?

Also, if you fully shut down the first MacBook Pro, do you still get an error when trying to connect the second MacBook Pro? If so, try to connect in a new, test user account as well. This shows how to make one:

Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Thanks!
