Is it possible to change the startup chime to the 2015 iMac startup chime on 2017 iMac (no T2 chip)

i have a 2017 iMac and i want to replace the big sur chime with the one from 2015. i know it's hard coded in the boot ROM but is there any way i can re-flash the bootrom with a version that has the old chime?

No, unfortunately, there is no way to re-flash the Mac boot rom to change the startup chime.

The closest I've seen is to disable the startup chime and then create an automator action that launches at login to play a selected short audio file.
