Taskbar constantly on screen after upgrading to iOS 15

Ever since I upgraded my device to iOS 15, whenever I have my Bluetooth keyboard attached to my iPad, there is a taskbar, showing spelling suggestions, Dictation, and a few other things, that is constantly on the screen, floating over it. It often blocks what I type. What is it, and how do I get rid of it?

iPad, iPadOS 15

Hi, KnoxHarrington221, and thanks for reaching out. We see that you're having issues with recommended content showing up with your external keyboard. We'll be glad to help out.

From what you've described, it sounds like this may be the predictive text feature. This article shows how to disable that: Use predictive text on iPad

Per the article "With an external keyboard: Go to Settings > General > Keyboard, then turn off Predictive."

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
