Is it possible to password protect a single page in Pages or, alternatively, iBooks Author?
Yes, I know the latter is deprecated. And I know that the entire file can be password protected. I'm asking about a single page within a document.
If not possible directly could javascript be used?

No. Whole document or none. JavaScript for Automation (JXA) cannot do this either as it is dependent on the underlying Pages application capability, which again is no.
