Hello is there a way to disable Gifs being saved by imessage in the photos of that iMessage conversation? A friend and I wanted to just talk with gifs for a day but it takes up a lot of space and all of them are being stored in the photos of that conversation.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, you'd like to know if there is a way to disable GIFs from saving in conversations within the Messages app.
Unfortunately, there isn't a way to disable them from being saved to the conversation.
You could go to Settings > Messages > Low Quality Image Mode, to make these photos or images shared lower quality.
You could also disable the option all together in Settings > Messages > MMS.
Or change Message History from saving Forever, to either 30 days or 1 Year in Settings > Messages > Message History.
