payment cards are not supported for this account

Hi

my son is 13 and when we are trying to setup his card on his iphone while pushing the + sign in wallet we get that:

payment cards are not supported for this account

We have upgraded his iPhone to the latest iOS and it was restarted. We signed out from iCloud and signed back in. He is member of the Family under my account but I haven't seen any settings for that.

The country where we live (Poland) is enabled for the Apple Pay. It's not about the card as the error is before entering any details on the card. the phone is iPhoneX

Any hints? I've searched on the internet but I couldn't find anything.

Hi!

thank you for your comments however I think I haven’t correctly described the issue.

we are trying to add a debit card from the polish bank to the wallet.

at the link above it’s written you can’t add a card if you’re less than 13. If the bank offers a card for 13 years person what is the reason of not allowing it to be used with the wallet? That’s not logical to me

Hi crissonpl,

We understand you're trying to add a card to your Apple Pay account and it's not working. We're happy to help.

You mentioned the age of 13, this would be the issue. In order to add cards to the Wallet app to use for Apple Pay, you would need to be 18 or older. If you're already using Family Sharing, you can use the Apple Cash option to send money to their Apple Cash account that they can use for purchases. You can find more info on setting using that option here: Set up and use Apple Cash Family

Thanks for the additional clarification! You would need to be 13 or older to add a card to the Wallet application. If you are 13 and it will not allow you to add a card, you can try these steps: If you can't add cards to Wallet to use with Apple Pay

If you've exhausted those steps and still cannot add a card, we'd recommend contacting Apple for assistance: Get Support
