I used my iPad Pro 2021 11” and all of a sudden my iPad took me back to the Lock Screen. This problem is no longer here but can you please explain to me why that happened? Thank you and have a nice day.

It appears that whichever app that you were using had crashed and that showed your Desktop. This happens every now and then and then until the app developer updates the app to match the current iOS version.
Shut Down and ReStart your iPad and see whether that resolves the issue.
