Watch OS 8 - last one day of battery

Is it normal to now loose one day of battery after OS8 upgrade?

Rapid Battery drain on Ultra watch after 9.2 update & iOS 16 Since updating this weekend my battery has gone from a satisfactory day or so of power to only a few hours of charge. It also charges incredibly slowly. I have tried unpairing and repairing but that has not improved it. This is incredibly frustrating as the battery time is THE reason I upgraded my watch.

That is of course “lose”. Meaning that I used to get one and a half day of use after full battery charge and now, a 100% charger at 10am in the morning is flat at 6pm !

Apple says 18 hours between charges with average use.
