Safari Navigation iOS 15 - Basic Functionality differs from iPhone navigation.

Bookmark navigation in iOS15 on iPad is a disaster.

No longer can you one click navigate, it now takes multiple clicks (dependant on your Bookmark structure) and you always have to “Back” button press to get back to a full screen display where Bookmark sidebar is no longer visible which collapses the structure next time you open bookmarks..

On iPhone it still works in same manner as iOS14 so the Bookmark structure is left “open” each time you click Bookmarks. Which is sensible and intuitive.

Why is different on iPhone? Someone please explain the advantage of this feature when used on iPad.

Aside from all the other so called “improvements”, this is a complete pain.

Opinion - Safari is ugly, clunky and horrible to use on iPad.

There are many changes within iPadOS15 - and significant changes to Safari and its management of Bookmarks is only one of the significant changes.

You are not the first to make the observation concerning the major shortcomings of the iPadOS15 Safari Sidebar - and certainly won’t be the last.

Apple do invite constructive feedback, comments and feature requests via their product feedback pages. For iPad and iPadOS:
